"Roughly 60 to 70 percent of NHL players are left-handed shooters, depending on the season. Six of the NHL's top 10 current scorers are lefty shots, but three of the top five goals leaders shoot right-handed." (Source: NHL.com, 2020 - https://www.nhl.com/kraken/news/when-left-is-right/c-317014698)
"Among the 87 goalies to play at least one NHL game this season, six catch with his right hand (Hutchinson, Francouz, Calvin Petersen, Calvin Petersen, and Charlie Lindgren), combining to play 81 games (72 starts) before the NHL paused its season on March 12 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus." Our local Hockey specialty store carries a VERY limited supply of Full Right equipment. About 1 in 8 Goalie stick on display is a Full Right stick; which not bad when actually FR Goalies represent such a small percentage. But, only 1 out of several dozen pairs of Catcher-Blocker gloves combo are Full Right, making it very hard for FR Goalies to try on the proper equipment.
"In Finland they have gear for right handed goalies, only.
That's the main reason Patrik Laine became a skater."
